This painting represents an abstract version of the Todra Gorge on the east side of the High Atlas mountains in Morocco. It is a dedication to my old friend Gary. Our adventures together began when we became firm friends around the age of 17. Over the years Gary had enticed me into a more outgoing approach to life and in1991(our early 20's) we abruptly handed in our notices from work and hitchhiked our way South through Europe to Morocco. Interestingly, the Gulf War had started and we sailed into Morocco sometime after the air offensive named Operation Desert Storm had taken place some distance away. Although Morocco was not a stones throw from the troubles, we were on a journey further south seemingly meeting tourists that were heading only in the opposite direction. It was a great adventure and a lifetime of interesting momories. Thank you Gaz!
